Spending New Year’s Eve in the South Hams

It’s hard to believe another new year is just around the corner, but that’s where we currently find ourselves. After the past few years of uncertainty and muted celebrations, you’ll likely want to see 2022 off with a bang, so our Devon estate agents have compiled some of the best celebrations that are happening this year:

The Totnes Brewing Company, Totnes

Time: 7 pm – 1 am

Cost: Free Entry

The Totnes Brewing Company is hosting another New Year’s party this year following the success of 2021’s showing. Things kick off at 7 pm in the Library Bar, described as a ‘little cocktail and jazz soiree’, which runs until around 9 pm when the party really gets started.

Local DJ Mabonman will be in charge of proceedings in the beer garden which will be sure to get you up and dancing 2022 away! Entry is free, but there is limited capacity, so visitors are advised to arrive early to avoid disappointment.

The Cove, Hope Cove

Time: 9 pm – 2 am

Cost: £11 – tickets found here

The Cove, located between Salcombe and Kingsbridge, is an award-winning craft beer bar and restaurant offering excellent food and stunning views. For New Year’s Eve, The Cove welcomes 8-piece funk, soul and hip-hop outfit Freshly Squeezed to help you see in the New Year in style.

Things get started at 9 pm and go through until the small hours, but tickets are required. You can purchase them from the bar for £10 or from the above link for £11.

The Sail Loft, Dartmouth

Time: 7 pm – late

Cost: £30 per person

The Sail Loft in Dartmouth is hosting their All About the L party (L for Loft) following on from their All About the S party in 2021 (S for Sail). Expect limoncello, lollipops and a live stream of the London fireworks. The dress code also needs to be L-themed, with suggestions being Lycra and leopard print, although we’re sure you can get creative! There’s also live music from Take Away Dave, which will be sure to get you up on the dancefloor.

Tickets are £30 per person and include limoncello shots and limoncello fizz, plus bacon sandwiches from 10:30 pm – email sailloftdartmouth@gmail.com to sort your tickets.

The Bull Inn, Totnes

Time: 9:30 pm – 12:30 am

The Bull Inn in Totnes is a fantastic pub and restaurant that take a sustainable and ethical approach to everything they do, priding themselves on being a wholly organic establishment that makes great use of fresh, local produce. For their New Year’s Eve bash, you’ll find a seasonal feast served alongside cocktails, before music from Hazaar!, a six-piece band, kicks off at 9:30 pm to see you through to the New Year.

The Albatross in Totnes, the sister of the Bull, also has an early evening New Year event serving organic fizz and nibbles. Tickets cost £10 and more details can be found here.

Harbour Beach Club Hotel, Salcombe

Time: TBC

Cost: £95 per person with a £30 deposit at the time of booking

The Harbour Beach Club Hotel in Salcombe is hosting a delicious five-course tasting menu on New Year’s Eve at their hotel located right on South Sands beach. Expect plenty of seafood, live music, and of course, champagne to see in the New Year. You will also be able to watch the firework display that takes place in the town from the warmth and comfort of the hotel.
